In the ever changing world around us it is those quiet, serene moments where we reflect on what is most important and turn our life focus and direction back to what matters most...

Serenity looks like a sea angel. She is a creature who has dominion over the land and deepest parts of the ocean. She has a very peaceful expression and her face inspired the whole sculpture. The face is something that make us very unique and shows our personality or mood. This one I hand sculpted from natural ceramic clay, glazed it and did  mother of pearl over glaze.

The inspiration for this sculpture came from an old Slavic frescos. As a kid, I loved going to the old monasteries and looking at the paintings on the walls. The faces were always so serene,  enlightened, and full of love and understanding at the same time. Many times they used colors of fire (red), truth and rebirth (blue) and heavenly white.

I have been working on this sculpture for months, it's 13 inches  (34cm) long and covered in the most beautiful glass beads, fresh water pearls, crystals, dichroic glass, lampwork beads, coral beads, vintage glass beads, art glass, etc...
